Established in 2012, Fulford Preparatory College is an international boarding school with a maximum enrolment of 60 students.  We enroll students 15 to 19 years old into one of three streams: i) grade 10, 11 and 12 credits towards the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD); ii) English as a Second Language (ESL) Foundation, and; iii) University Qualification Year.  Our average class size is 10 students and our graduates maintain a 100% university placement rate to their first-choice university.  In addition, we offer recreational co-curricular activities and ‘boutique’ residential living with queen size beds and en suite bathrooms.  Located in a former heritage inn in Merrickville, Ontario, previously honoured as Canada’s most beautiful village, we are close to Ottawa and Brockville and are adjacent to the Rideau River and Canal system, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 


The Marketing and Admissions Coordinator has three primary functions:

  1. Develop, oversee and implement marketing, communications and advertising strategies and materials as defined by the needs of, and in conjunction with, the Recruitment Officers, Headmaster and Graphic Designer, to maximize school enrolment for both boarding and day admissions.  This would include overseeing the development of all marketing, print, web and electronic materials; management of all social media platforms; communications, newsletters and email blasts; promotional ideas and materials; photography, and website content and structure.


  1. Create a “best practices”, results oriented and strategic approach to recruit day students. Develop and implement strategies to sell the school to prospective day students and their families, recruiting mission appropriate top-quality students to the school.  Responsible for creating a day admissions market and events to support day admissions.  Oversee, track, record and follow up on all day inquiries and applications daily, leading applicants through the admissions process to enrollment.  The ability to sell, persuade and convince individuals that the product we offer is the best for the student, along with the ability to build relationships quickly, a warm and endearing personality and a strategic fast thinker are all critical skills; understanding the needs and interests of the student/family and then finding a way to meet that need through the product we provide.  An ability to manage large pieces of information, build and maintain relationships quickly and be highly motivated and exceptionally well organized is required.


  1. As the main administrator in the Admissions Office you will manage large pieces of information, track day and boarding applicants from inquiry through to enrolled, including collecting all required documents, sending invoices, receipts and ensuring families pay fees, liaising with the Recruitment Officers, Director of Academics, Director of Residential Life and Headmaster. 


Responsibilities Include:

  • Meet established recruitment and enrolment targets for day students

  • Set strategic direction to stay ahead of recruitment trends

  • Work with the Recruitment Officers, Headmaster and Graphic Designer to ensure the school has all the necessary marketing and advertising materials required to be successful.

  • Provide initial contact and follow-up services as needed to students, families and educational consultants/agents

  • Track large volumes of information and make data available as required, keeping statistics and analytics

  • Respond to inquiries in a prompt and professional manner

  • Ensure the maintenance, accuracy and integrity of the admissions database and files

  • Work collaboratively within a small school community


Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Ability to build relationships and trust quickly, and close sales

  • Familiarity with the high school and/or university admission environment

  • Proven track record of selling, ideally educational programs and specifically private boarding schools internationally

  • Target and sales driven

  • Detail and process oriented with an ability to manage databases and track information

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong computer and technical skills

  • University degree in business, education or related field
